1. General
1.1 These terms and conditions apply to all sales of goods by BBFS Blaydon Biomass Fuel Supplies Ltd (referred to as “we”, “us”, “our” or “BBFS”). 1.2 By placing an order you (the customer) accept these terms in full. No variation is binding unless agreed in writing by a director.
2. Quotations & Pricing
2.1 Quotations are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise.
2.2 All prices are exclusive of VAT unless expressly stated.
2.3 We reserve the right to adjust prices without notice to reflect changes in raw material, energy, transport or labour costs.
2.4 Published website and brochure prices are indicative; the price charged will be that confirmed at time of order acceptance.
3. Orders & Payment
3.1 Orders are only accepted when confirmed by us in writing (email counts) or when goods are dispatched.
3.2 Payment terms: – Retail / domestic customers: cleared funds before or on delivery (card, BACS or cash). – Approved trade accounts: strictly 30 days from invoice date.
3.3 We reserve the right to charge interest at 8 % above Bank of England base rate on overdue accounts and to suspend further deliveries.
4. Delivery
4.1 Delivery is kerbside or nearest safe off-loading point unless agreed otherwise in writing.
4.2 Blown pellet deliveries: customer must provide suitable access for 28–32 tonne articulated vehicle and blower hose (max 30 m). Any failed blown delivery due to access issues will incur a £250 + VAT re-delivery charge.
4.3 Delivery times are estimates only. We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, vehicle breakdown or force majeure.
4.4 Off-loading is the customer’s responsibility unless crane off-load has been pre-booked and paid for.
5. Title & Risk
5.1 Risk passes to you on delivery or when goods are placed on your vehicle at our yard (collection). 5.2 Ownership (title) remains with BBFS until full payment is received. Until then you hold the goods as bailee and must store them separately and insured.
6. Quality & Specifications
6.1 Wood pellets are supplied to ENplus® A1 (ID UK305) unless otherwise stated.
6.2 Sawn timber is supplied strength-graded C16 or C24, kiln-dried to average 12–18 % moisture and FSC®/PEFC certified.
6.3 Firewood is kiln-dried to <20 % moisture and carries Woodsure Ready-to-Burn certification.
6.4 Natural variation in colour, grain, moisture within certified limits and minor splitting is normal and does not constitute a defect.
7. Returns & Refunds
7.1 Bespoke, cut-to-length or treated timber cannot be returned.
7.2 Sealed bags/pallets of pellets, briquettes or firewood may be returned within 14 days only if unopened, unused and in resaleable condition. A 25 % handling/restocking charge applies plus return transport cost.
7.3 Faulty or incorrect goods must be notified within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs. We will collect and replace or refund at our discretion.
8. Liability
8.1 Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the price paid for the goods in question.
8.2 We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, boiler damage caused by incorrect storage or use of fuel, or failure to follow appliance manufacturer instructions.
9. Storage Advice (Important – Excludes Us from Liability)
9.1 Wood pellets must be stored in completely dry conditions. Water damage after delivery is not covered.
9.2 Firewood and briquettes must be kept under cover and off the ground.
9.3 Failure to store correctly voids any quality claim.
10. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure to supply caused by war, strike, lock-out, raw-material shortage, transport disruption, weather, fire, pandemic restrictions or any event beyond our reasonable control.
11. Complaints Procedure
11.1 Notify us in writing within 48 hours of delivery with photographs.
11.2 We will investigate and respond within 5 working days.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
